I hit a deer on the highway tonight about half an hour from my destination. I'm a little shook up, but otherwise perfectly fine. The same cannot be said of either the deer or my car.

This is just malevolent fuckery. I know there are infinite reasons to hate DOGE but this is a level of petty malice towards children that I want to slap all of them in their smug, stupid, fascist faces.
I just got confirmation that National History Day, a program that does more to ignite K-12 students' love of history, learning, and yes, even the United States than anything else I've ever seen, had all its funding cut yesterday by the DOGE-axe at the NEH - including for this year's ongoing contest.
