Dr. Deirdre Nunan, an orthopedic surgeon who returned from volunteering at the Nasser Hospital in Gaza City speaking tonight at Knox-Met United, Regina. The bravery she saw of those enduring the horrors of the Israeli government should give us all hope that the Palestinian people will prevail

A great conversation on the Wexit movement at the Science Pub series at Bushwakker Brewing Company tonight. Unfortunately there are politicians helping to encourage this movement to benefit themselves politically. A dangerous political strategy.

Info from tonight's panel is arts, culture and heritage is about 3% of the Canadian economy, roughly the same as oil and gas extraction. And this is even when the arts are chronically underfunded compared to the massive subsidies oil and gas receive. Those subsidies should go to the arts instead

Charlie Angus speaking at the University of Regina. I agree with him that the U.S. is a danger but the root causes are more than just Trump & the U.S. The threats are the billionaires, capitalism & neoliberalism that threaten the survival not only of Canada but every other nation as well

Panel last night Revisiting Downtown Safety and Community Well-being. My takeaways were the police continue to be the ones calling the shots on how mental health, addictions & homelessness calls are handled & the safety & community of concern is focused on anyone not needing to live on the streets

What reason did fossil fuel companies have to keep prices low after scrapping the carbon tax? None at all.

Apparently Patty Hadju,Minister of Jobs and Families, doesn't see the hypocrisy in saying this.
She tried to force workers to go back to work who were striking to be paid so they wouldnt have to work for free

It makes sense from a compassionate viewpoint and from a financial perspective as well. Our MLAs, MPs and municipal leaders need to all get on the same page on supportive housing and stop making excuses on why more isn't being done.

Thank you to the senators who signed this. Contact your MP and tell them that Canada must stop arming Israel and to call for a full arms embargo on Israel.

The federal govt called gender-based violence an “epidemic” in 2023 & said it had no place in Canada. But there continues to be an increasing number of murders of women in the country. Now the current goal is to make cuts to something that should be working on this. From Politico email newsletter

I call BS on this. People want progressive politics that preserve public services with a secure social safety net but what we get instead are right leaning parties

This is excessive with NDP party execs wanting a leadership entry fee of $100,000. Only people with the deepest pockets are supposed to be NDP leader? From the Politico Ottawa Playbook email newsletter for July 10.

Not going to say Canada doesn't have responsibility to reduce emissions further to prevent climate disasters & better preparedness for wildfires but should also be addressing this to his President who doubled down on fossil fuels & draconian measures against climate action

As heatwaves get more frequent and severe out water sources are increasingly important. Wars have been waged over oil but wars over water are not just likely but inevitable if we don't act to preserve world water security

I guess public election forums make Warren Steinley uncomfortable and he can't come out to those but if he needs to hide in his constituency office when it's nearby to avoid any disturbing questions he'll come out for Canada Day

Doug Ford throwing out racist tropes on Indigenous peoples with these disgusting comments. He should apologize and scrap his Bill 5 that is an attack on Indigenous land rights.

Hardworking families are paying the price for Trump’s reckless trade war.
This is about real people losing real jobs in our communities.
PM Carney: Now is the time to invest in good jobs, strong public services and strong communities—not roll out the red carpet for Trump.
