Pleasure having you Eric! Solid conversation - top highlight for me was "privatization is theft"

Discussing policy is not where we're at, reframing ideology is where we're at, and the left never gave a solid argument for why the libertarian logic was flawed. That needs to happen, and if dots are connected I think there's a way to run roughshod over both liberals and conservatives.

The national technique isn't going to map onto this state. That's just real. The left here needed to be unapologetically cutting when it came to ideologically burning the right. We never stole their techniques to use them, we never spent time genuinely arguing why they were wrong.

I get that a lot of the progressive scene got burnt out with the fight, but I think there's a serious element of people from that arena acting out of self preservation and parroting Bernie style politics rather than really being willing to set themselves aside and genuinely reclaim turf from the FSP

The idea of personal liberty and individualism doesn't exist in opposition to collective action - if anything they're kinda flip sides of the same coin. If you treat them like they're opposing values, both sides will end up failing.

Something I think about often is the meaning of the word "libertarian" and how it was appropriated by "classical liberals" when it was historically a socialist position - maybe this concept needs a genuine reframing to illustrate the gross hypocrisy and smooth brain ideology of FSP

I'm not one to believe that podcasting actually has an impact, but if it does serve as a means to genuinely motivate people to get involved in action, maybe there's some value?

So the question is how to revitalize? I genuinely wonder if rebooting Locally Sourced in a more focused manner would help. It feels like without any kind of media that distills things it's hard to overcome the atomization. Without someone in your ear at work or in the car, etc. what keeps it going?
