Filmmaker, artist, writer and so much more. LOST SKELETON OF CADAVRA, DARK AND STORMY NIGHT, STEAM WARS, THE ADVENTURES OF BIG DAN FRATER.
Finished 1st season of THE GOLD, riveting account of '83 Brink’s-Mat robbery. Impressive deck of characters, terse Neil Forsyth’s script, gritty direction by Aneil Maria & Lawrence Gough. Cast is spot-on, especially magnetic Charlotte Spencer as DI Nicki Jennings, who sometimes resembles Diana Rigg.

A giant of cinema has left us. RIP Tatsuya Nakadai (1932 - 2025).

Yet another… Do pick up the two books I have of these if you haven’t already. Makes wonderful conversation over ironing or scaling fish. Or even ironing fish.

The wonderful Andrea King looking positively feral as she steals the terrific 1950 noir-procedural SOUTHSIDE 1-1000. Recently enjoyed courtesy of @eddiemuller.bsky.social’s Noir Alley on TCM.

Amazing to think that one or more of these can be on a wall close to you or someone you care about. How is that even possible? Make great presents for anyone that doesn’t have them. Make an offer via message. Clockwise from upper left “Floont” “Demmizen” “Ogtott” & “Elymyx,” each a lovely 12” X 16”

Ingrid Pitt & Soledad Miranda shake it but don’t break it in EL SONIDO DE LA MUERTE (SOUND OF HORROR), 1966

Yeah it’s an invisible human-sized dinosaur, but still surprisingly enjoyable, effective “compound/siege horror” like KILLER SHREWS, NIGHT OF THE BLOOD BEAST, ATTACK OF THE CRAB MONSTERS etc.

The 2004 THE ALAMO directed by John Lee Hancock bombed which is too bad since it's very much worth seeing, if for nothing else than to savor the thoughtful, measured, moving performance of Billy Bob Thornton as David Crockett. It's also the closest to actual events, with attention to authenticity.

The only drawback with these were that they broke so easily, so not too many have stood the test of time, even when sitting.

… when you would look at a movie poster and have no doubt that… THAT is a movie poster… RIP, the one, the only, Drew Struzan.

This is one of my favorites, and not just because I like the movie.

Long time since I posted any these.

“When Laughed We Met” (1943) 86m. Jenny Anwell, Billy Basin, Dola Knight. A beloved vaudeville couple reminisce about their life together and specific pies they’ve thrown.

Today would have been the 115th birthday of the great Robert McKimson who is probably my favorite of the Looney Tunes geniuses, and that is certainly saying something. Flanked here by two of his creations, who are also two of my favorite LT characters. Cheers and appreciation, Mr. M.

Thought I’d post this shot of my original shooting script to show the proper spelling of a certain word.

New painting, in a bit of Halloweenish mood. “Floont” was painted with Golden Open acrylic on 12”X16” canvas panel. First of what I’m calling my GOONALIENS series. If you’re interested in purchasing for yourself or as gift message me.

THE BAADER MEINHOF COMPLEX (2008) rockets along w/ gritty cinematic energy. Uli Edel’s directs Bernd Eichinger's script with the ice cold docudrama of a 70s film. Cast is superb, especially the intense three shown on the right: Moritz Bleibtreu, Johanna Wokalek & Martina Gedeck. Highly recommended.

STUFF YOU DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT RISING AI STAR TILLY NORWOOD

Tilly Norwood has had a lot of work done.

Can trace her lineage to a second cousin of Sonic the Hedgehog and a chair from 101 DALMATIANS.

Allegedly slept with important bitcoins to get where she is.

When I was a little kid I thought Gen. Grant looked like Rod Serling. If his 5 o’clock shadow went to 10. Now? Not so much. But that's how important Rod was to me even before I knew of his works. He was the guy that opened a door to the unknown. It's 66th ann. of TWILIGHT ZONE. Long live Rod Serling
