Classic Motorhome #FBPE #WASPI

A retired couple from North Wales, enjoying life in their classic motorhome as often as possible, trying hard to be fully off-grid.

We were an engineer and a children's nurse, we worked in the Middle East for a while and married in 1982
Came home to a months worth of junk mail - not the consultants appointment my wife was expecting, but never mind it is all water off a ducks back to us!

Our final sundown of Jayne's retirement tour.

Watching this with a chip buttie and a glass of orange juice is just blissful.

As much as we love where we live in North Wales we are going to miss things like this.

No TV or radio for over a month but plenty of audiobooks - I can recommend it.

So here I was minding my own business and this great egret flew from behind the tree.

I would not like to be speared by him or her.

A mallard day type of day at Bosworth lakeside, it is amazing how much they vary.

Having a lovely day just chilling before returning home to North Wales tomorrow after a month away.

Halfway home after a Four hour drive and now parked up at Bosworth lakeside leaving us with a similar journey on Sunday to home

The wind certainly kept us on our toes whilst driving, thankfully most other road users were also very careful today

Great seeing the wildlife and not fully dark at 5pm

We are as about East as you can go in the UK and keep getting weather warnings for home in North Wales.

We are returning home next week meanwhile everyone please stay safe the weather is changing by the minute.

I have been mostly absent from social media since Christmas as we are on my wife's retirement tour, now entering our last week before returning home to North Wales for a short while before the next motorhome adventure.

Just got caught in a rain shower whilst on Kessingland beach now time for a brew

It certainly feels like the coldest night of our trip so far, but worth it just to watch the fantastic setting sun over Suffolk.

Had a wonderful day in Southwold today, now in our Third week of Jayne's retirement tour.

There were people swimming in the sea, and I was struggling to stay warm with 2 coats on!
January 9, 2025 at 4:03 PM
Just on the other side of the river from there now! Absolutely stunning.
January 9, 2025 at 12:59 PM
It is nice to look out of the rear window and see nothing but blue skies and sunshine, but blooming heck it is cold here on the further most Eastern point of the UK.

Now into the Third week of Jayne's retirement tour.

A visit to Southwold is on the agenda today.

Day between 12 and 14 of Jayne's retirement tour and I think we are about as far East in the UK as you can park up on a site.

Within 100 yards of the North Sea near Lowestoft.

It is lovely here.

What a stunning morning here in #Beccles.
January 7, 2025 at 10:22 AM
At the very moment I said "time to move on we have been well sheltered from the snow here" this happens!

Moving closer towards the East Anglia coast today.

I had never watched a tree creeper in action until yesterday, since being retired I think I have learnt more than any other period in my life.

Maybe having time to observe is the answer, and I should have made more time in the past.

Either way isn't nature wonderful?

Day 11 of Jayne's retirement tour and a quick look at the variety of places we have stayed so far.

Pubs, campsite, racecourse, and alongside a WW2 aircraft hanger.
January 5, 2025 at 4:19 PM
I am quiet on here at the moment as we are just getting into week Two of Jayne's retirement tour.

Woke up to this weather alert, it is the story of my life "living on the edge".

We are currently in Needham on a site behind The Red Lion pub, I cannot think of anywhere better to be seeking shelter.

Really strange weather conditions setting off the motorhome outside motion detector but when we step outside you can not see anything with the naked eye.

It is not raining and it looks like the fog is finally lifting.
December 28, 2024 at 6:17 PM
I have been away from social media for a few weeks preparing for my wife's retirement and subsequent celebratory road trip

Now on day 3 and all we have seen so far is fog and the bar

But having a great time, currently near Horncastle, Lincolnshire

Moving on to Cambridgeshire tomorrow for few days
December 28, 2024 at 1:26 PM
Here in North Wales we just had massive winds and amazing rain, then Five minutes later a wonderful blue sky and moonrise.
December 5, 2024 at 5:06 PM
Aldi do sail so close to the wind sometimes don't they?

It tastes ok to be fair. Not at all dissimilar to One of my favourite ciders.

I received my Pensioners Christmas bonus today from DWP a whole £10, it has been that amount for the past 52 years, which is coincidentally the same time that I started earning.

I am surprised that this is still a thing.
December 2, 2024 at 8:39 AM
I am currently at home for a couple of days as my wife has Three more weeks of 2 day working each week before retiring

So taking the opportunity to #3DPrint an enclosure for a part of our new Lithium battery installation in the motorhome that we carried out over the past few days

The temperature here in #NorthWales outside has gone from zero overnight to plus 14c at 6pm, I honestly cannot remember such a big change in 12 hours or so.
November 23, 2024 at 6:12 PM
It is like a game of space invaders gone wrong watching the motorhome windscreen fill up with even more hail here in #NorthWales. 👾👾👾
