At least we likely won’t have trouble finding them to buy. They politicized mask wearing and convinced people that they don’t work. Public Health went along with it despite knowing well fitting N95 masks do offer a high level of protection.

You would need to get a Dtap (diphtheria/tetanus/pertussis) booster for updated protection. Pertussis is whooping cough. You should be able to access it at your PCP or other places that administer vaccines.

The preliminary sequence from the H5N1 human case in British Columbia has been posted and it is not good news. The virus potentially has a quasispecies at HA residue 226 (H3 numbering). This is bad news because we know that mutations at residue 226 can increase binding to human receptors. 1/

Looks like you were right. I hope you bought a lottery ticket. Bird flu about to pop off. The teen in Canada looks to possibly have the clade/strain that could make it possible for human to human transmission. They are also in critical condition where the other cases weren’t as severe.
