my mom died at 46 and my dad had to raise 4 children alone. We received SSI benefits until we graduated from HS. I had a guidance counselor who refused to sign papers to continue my benefits after I turned 18 and was still had 5 mos. left of HS He thought my family was gaming the system somehow.

but she wasn't asking for insurance coverage - she was asking for taxpayers to give her free IVF while everyone else struggled and failed to pay for disease and trauma that risked their lives. Infertility is not life threatening - cancer is. This is why I question her prioritization of IVF in 2025

but what about the lunacy of thinking that in 2025 free IVF should be a national priority in the first place? It isn't that Rayleigh can't pay for IVF, it is that she doesn't think she should have to. I should have to sacrifice for my son's cancer treatment, but not Rayleigh for her IVF.

the problem is that these sorts of pieces raise the fact that free IVF should not be a national priority while parents are going bankrupt paying for their children's critical health needs.

I've given up on the church now that it is clear it is nothing more than an international child sex trafficking ring financed by the faithful who get nothing in return for their support. Dolan is among the worst of them in this regard, so it is no surprise that he thinks Trump is a great Christian

Parent of a survivor of adolescent/young adult cancer, also an archivist and historian, reaching out. Make sure to use every social work/therapist/mental health resource your children's hospital offers to parents. It made the difference to my family as we navigated the trauma of cancer treatment
