In today’s installment of “what the heck am I doing?”, I’ve put my top on back-to-front, squirted perfume in my ear and my socks are inside out. I’m taking this as good luck. The earache is just coincidental.

In an occasional update on my Citroën Ami electric, it’s MOT time. And it’s interesting. I booked with Citroën themselves, because it’s weird & only they can understand it. Except. It won’t fit on their ramp. It’s currently resting at the local Ford commercials garage with all the vans & quad bikes.

In other news, I am once again wondering which era I’m from: I’ve just said to my mother, as we passed in the hallway, “I’m just going to make a telephone call”. Surely no-one else says this now. Or answers the house phone with the number. (Yes, I occasionally do that too)

Starting the day with the usual grumps about health apps. Particularly NHS health apps. I now have two different ones to use (the latest from a team that I haven’t yet seen). Neither of them offers a tick box for wheelchair use. 🙄

Playing cards with my Mum. It’s been years. Forget how fiendish she is. So much fun.

Thoughts on a London weekend: It’s always nice to have cheerful & friendly customer service during one´s stay. I guess they call it the personal touch? Sometimes though, it gets a little TOO personal. Being hailed by one’s first name, at every opportunity, rather sets one’s teeth on edge, I find. 🙄

Depending on exchange rates, and availability we sometimes order from the .fr version of a web sales site. Just like the uk site, the algorithm throws the occasional curve ball. I was not expecting it to suggest a boîte for monstres though. Surely some mistake?

Stove top coffee and a hobnob. Classless, or less class? You decide. I think the biscuit is better with tea.

Friday was a day for Cardin, and Hermès, the revival of my second best coat, and cheese sandwiches on the bus. (Three buses)

Today is a day for putting the rice cakes in fridge, and coffee by the gravy. No, I don’t know either.

Today is a day for inside out socks and back to front jumpers. Note to self: Do concentrate. Or at least put your glasses on.

Recovering from a visit to the opticians. May quit. Every time I go, they find something else wrong. And now it’s spreading to the rest of me.

Just had to validate my face. As usual the darn thing didn’t recognise me. For 45 minutes. And then it estimated my age. Apparently, I am between 17 and 30. I’ll take that.

Today is a day for putting the fabric conditioner in the fridge. Wheeling through the kitchen, without my glasses on, I spied the white bottle with the green top. In it went.

There are of course many worse things. Including the spider’s web that I wheeled straight into on the way to the bathroom this morning. Cries of EEK, hastened Mum from the kitchen.

The perils of language learning: pronunciation errors in… English. This afternoon, I was happily reminding my Mum (or trying to) about a lovely restaurant in Ludlow. ”It was in a small Allez, ummmm… Alee? Al… Gah!!!

Scam alert. DWP text about 2025-2026 Winter Fuel Payment, that’s almost believable. Except the line spacing is way off, and the telephone number begins: +63 The Philippines.
