Te Whanganui-a-Tara based Theatre creator, writer, board game dabbler. Still a work in progress. Definitely human.
The worst part of having my laptop stolen is not the lack of a laptop, or even the hassle of getting it replaced.

It's losing 2 years of campaign notes and prep

Wellycon was truly an amazing time. Picked up 4!!! new board games, played multiple prototypes (all of which were awesome) and got lots of feedback on my own as well. I miss it already and can't wait for next year!

Amazing experiences at wellycon so far:
Watching a talk on writing for RPGs, a talk on psychology and tttrpgs, and aging Arkus games latest: Storm Raiders (with a chance to win it as a spot prize!)

At Wellycon all weekend! Starting this morning with Blood on the Clocktower. Very excited to be playing once again with strangers. I've also brought along my prototype board game! Come find me and let's play some board games together!

A little blog post about the overlap between Ask for's in Improv, Prompts in RPG's, and the psychology of why we need these:

Roxy nightmare on elm Street marathon. Starting with the OG, just as good as I remember it. Although more alcoholism and home alone-esque shenanigans than I recalled

I've posted about it before and I'll post about it again! I'm directing Iron for Stagecraft at the Gryphon in August and Auditions are coming up soon! It's a super cool show that I'm really excited to put on, so come audition if you're interested?

PB&Jam hour 29. I have been reminded that I need to eat water and drink food. And sleep too

PB&Jam 48 hour Gamejam in the NZ games festival has begun. I am participating alongside Charlie Jones and Ben Kelly. Hour 4.5 and we are making a game about a star. The camera is broken, Charlie's laptop refuses to connect to internet, and BK made the most threatening music for our "chill game"

Night is always darkest run 2. It is 3am and Lia has been told to Cry for 15 minutes. When asked what kind of cry, we got "when doves cry by prince". She is currently listening with her toy cow while the audience sings along

Aphrodi-tim

A beautiful comedy show about self-discovery and self-love.
Still a little bit of a work in progress/some fine tuning needed, but a great show nonetheless.

House of Ick
Ginge and Minge's best sketch show yet. Still some humour that's not for me, but lots of stuff that was. One particular sketch had me cackling.

Great stuff from these two - reccomend

Quite hard to read a paper from 2007 discussing that bootcamps for conduct problems are actively harmful. It's been 23 years since that paper. TWENTY THREE YEARS

Thread:
Of all the things the government is doing, this might be one of the stupidest I have seen. Your average retail worker is NOT prepared to "citizens arrest" someone without hurting them or getting themselves hurt.
Expanded citizen's arrest powers to be announced
The industry lobby group fears the government's plan to widen powers will see more violence against staff who "don't go to work to do law enforcement".

SPOON SHOW - development showing

Charming clown show with some great chaotic energy. Can't help but wonder if the show would still work with a less friendly crowd. I really want Dan to learn how to play the spoons properly now

The King in Yellow

Horror in theatre just doesn't seem to work, and attempting to take on Cosmic Horror is an even more ambitious task. This team took on more than they could handle in attempting to translate the tattered stranger to the stage.

For My Family, and Yours
A beautiful reflection on love and close familial relationships. Shows rarely make me think about it days later, and even rarer cause me to act differently because of how it made me feel.

Don the Monsta
A bizarre show about friendship. Kind of an Urban Bogan NZ Napoleon Dynamite - wears this influence on its sleeve. Has some solid scenes and jokes but others that miss the mark. Overall OK.

Death, Ray.
Good fun show that explores grief and death in some very strange ways. Is extremely well directed and has some stellar performances. Particular shout out to Peggie Barnes for her multi role and puppetry work.
Well worthwhile

5am and I'm a little delirious with an audience of friends and strangers watching the bizarre and beautiful show that is The Night is Always Darkest. Lia is currently folding an origami cat so that she can bathe it. Half of the audience wants to keep it away from water, the rest want it washed
