Early years and elementary teacher librarian in 🇨🇳 because reading is what?! Fundamental! 🌈📚 (he/him/his)
Our shipment was delayed, so @bshum79.bsky.social’s “Mooncakes Mean Family” didn’t make it time for Mid-Autumn Festival, but his “We Are Lion Dancers” made it for New Year! A kid already tried to steal it off my desk before I cataloged it 🤣 it’s going to be popular! #BookSky #LibrarySky #TLsky

Our nonfiction reorganization project is complete! We ditched the baskets and did a HEAVY weed. Now each shelf is spine out but only about a single topic. We had to change lots of call numbers to move books to the right shelf, but kids are already finding more books!

Starting fall break with Bury Your Gays by @chucktingle.bsky.social. Only reading this in the daylight hours because I don’t normally do horror 😂 #BookSky

We started moving the nonfiction books today! I love shelves that aren’t totally full 😍 Once all books are moved, we’ll do another weed for books that haven’t circed in 6 years. Then I’ll go through each shelf and start the Franken-Dewey so it’s one topic on each shelf #TLsky #EduSky #LibrarySky

How will we live without this book about American football from 1992? 😂🤣 #EduSky #TLsky #LibrarySky

I think my “What would HUNTR/X read?” book display is going to be popular. This was after my first class visit 😂😂 Thanks KPop Demon Hunters 💛

This what would Labubu read display is so popular, I have to refill it after every class. I’m being forced to booktalk Dahl because so many other books have flown off the table 😂 Thanks to the TheBookWrangler for the idea! #EduSky #TLsky #BookSky #LibrarySky

Reading “Marsha: The Joy and Defiance of Marsha P. Johnson” by @tourmaliiine.bsky.social. It’s such a beautiful biography. I’m leaving it around the house so my nieces will ask me who she is [evil librarian laugh]

Saw @noethematt.bsky.social reading this on here and immediately knew that @emilymbender.bsky.social and @alexhanna.bsky.social’s “The AI Con” was my next beach read

Could not put this down. I’ve been waiting on a hold for @williecarver.bsky.social’s Gay Poems for Red States from my library for a while. Got tired of waiting, so I bought it yesterday! Who thought a Jerry Springer story would make me cry???

Loving Little District Books. Too many great choices but not nearly enough suitcase space 😭 #BookSky

Had to pay 11 euro to see the Austrian National Library. They really should have paid me to come in and weed. All these books and not a single copy of InvestiGATORS 🙄 #BookSky #LibrarySky

Working on our world languages section! Changed the signs to get rid of flags because, ya know, colonialism. Weeded languages not represented in our community any more. Got Korean parents with older kids to donate picture books because Korean is our third largest language group! #TLsky #Library

We are genrefying our Mandarin collection! This will make it much more browsable, and it should (🤞🏼) mean this section gets a lot more check outs. Mandarin is a home language for many of our students, so it’s exciting to be able to recognize and affirm that on our shelves! #TLsky #EduSky

Spring break book haul. I have missed shopping at Asia Books.

We are officially switching to Oliver tomorrow! We did double check outs for the last week to get us through the data migration this week when we can’t circulate in either LMS. We’ll be giving kids their pre-checked out stack of books this week. Hopefully see you never, Follett! 🤣😂🤓 #TLsky #EduSky

This is my fav bulletin board ever! Each student got a sentence starter for their hypothesis. They wrote/drew their prediction. Each class is a different color. We use it find similar hypotheses, and we use the progress pics to discuss if our hypothesis is being supported or rejected. #TLsky #EduSky

Our light maze experiment with pea plants is up and running! I got a lot of hypotheses from kindergarten with illustrations of dead pea plants 😂 #TLsky #EduSky

These pea seeds have some sprouting to do this weekend. We need them for a kindergarten experiment next week. We planted them on Tuesday and I have been checking them hourly since 🤣 #TLsky #EduSky

Another win from reclassifying the collection to Metis: now that the wordless books are all together, they are very popular! These baskets are constantly empty. #TLSky #EduSky

Reading Maybe Something Beautiful and showing the kids murals around Shanghai today. A grade one kid asked me what the citation was. I explained it was to give credit to the person who took the photographs. Never too early for MLA9 🤣 #TLsky #EduSky
