It was spontaneous, yeah. The prevailing theory is that they encouraged it to use lots of emojis, which skewed it towards replicating the style of very emotional texts. This particular outburst started off with Bing's insistence that the AVATAR sequel hadn't opened yet; it had.

So, then, the "Sydney" version of Bing?

I'd never heard of BRASS TARGET, so I looked it up, and learned that the guy who did a bunch of horror films for Disney also did a paranoid thriler with John Cassavetes and Sophia Loren about the murder (!) of George S. Patton.

I'm curious as to what the Time writer thinks "incredulously" means.

The song was originally just the B-side of "Come See Me"; I guess it's been added to Get the Picture? as a bonus track.

At least one rock band did. (And I imagine the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band also intended the double meaning when they covered the 1930s novelty song "Ali Baba's Camel": "Out for what we all want — lots of £.s.d.")

In context, it's this: "It may well be the first faith-based horror film, a genre mashup and coming-of-age film just in time for the holidays." Which is just badly constructed, but I wonder if the intended meaning wasn't more like "the first genre mashup of faith-based horror and coming-of-age."

Ah. I had a book of Russian fairytales as a kid, and I've come across her name here and there in other places over the years. The hut is always very prominent. I just figured the screenwriters were fine with a little metaphoric gender swapping.

I think they must have known all the connotations right from the start? Witch in a hut with chicken legs, that's the single most famous detail about her.

They called him "Baba Yaga" in BALLERINA this year.

I never could have guessed how irritated I'd be by Reddit posters calling POKER FACE a "procedural" until I actually witnessed it.

Nah. Guy didn't even have an undergrad degree.

The "phenomenon" is mostly a hoax/publicity stunt. The services do exist, but the family impersonation happens on a tiny scale if at all. They mostly just provide extras and seat fillers for social events.

There's a wealthy Trump donor named Bubba Saulsbury; I've seen speculation that it's a reference to him.

I'd seen a little about the Blossoms script controversy, but now I find it's ballooned way beyond that?

Franken groped and forcibly kissed multiple Democratic staffers. Whether that rises to the level of criminal assault or not, it's definitely the sort of thing that gets you fired.

There's a fairly prominent slap-drone character in Surface Detail; not following a criminal, but trying to keep someone out of trouble.

It's a money-free society, so there wouldn't be much in the way of white-collar crime. I imagine stalkers would be nagged to get therapy and, if necessary, physically restrained.
