Give it a Spin

We all feel the crunch at the end of the year for all of the units we should have ‘covered’ in our world language classes.

Maybe we should give our units a spin instead and have students investigate more.

What's on your plate?

Many of you may know this activity and may already have done it even with students as it is a great intrapersonal activity. If you haven’t, let’s give it a try!

What are the advantages of organically building vocabulary in a world language class? How do you elicit words from students in the first place?

Thanks to @marishawkins.bsky.social who inspired me with her latest post

As WL educators we find the final stretch of a school year challenging. Will Guidara - amzn.to/4gqfffW - reminds us “Do less, and do it well.”

Once balance is restored, it might also be good to have new perspectives and commit to a new idea, all while having a clear vision to achieve.

What should drive our actions in WL?
Setting expectations, building the team (a.k.a the students in your classes), and working with purpose should drive our actions in the classroom, all year long.
Let’s discuss "Unreasonable Hospitality" by Will Guidara together. forms.gle/CqtmgnPuPiS9...
