This is also the only version, as far as I remember, that even attempts to show that the castle is on a hill. Nottingham Castle Rock is rather large and obvious, but apparently not to film makers!

When I was a student I bought the hardback of our recommended edition of Beowulf for under half the paperback price, because it had been shelved in the children's section for about four years and nobody had noticed why it wasn't selling!

It's also a good dye plant: the yellow is almost too bright, but makes a lovely green if overdyed with indigo. Alum mordant for the yellow.
