Our Minneapolis campus is right on the Mississippi River. There must be hundreds of them around. More coyotes, please! I can't believe people stop their cars for the birds--move slowly, they'll get out of the way!

This is a horrible thing. Our grandmothers were multidimensional humans, not reducible to someone's algorithm. Those folks should be ashamed of themselves. And as a fellow Southerner, I know you are aware of the weight that phrase carries!

And it might be that bit of bureaucratic grind that forces me out, much as I love the work. I'm no longer salaried, so miss most of the awfulness, but it still comes for me, even as an adjunct. And I'm happy to talk about the evils of "adjunctivation," since mine is a unique case.
