Oh man. This... this is hitting me at just the right time. I've had a thing for cute female goblins recently, and Meryl is most definitely one of the more notable representatives of that archetype to me. 😗

It takes practice, not gonna lie. Not only in learning to fight the bosses, but also what weapons to pick and how to manage them. I'm hardly an expert, mind, but it's so much fun. ^_^

In general I wish savegames let me include notes. I remember playing a fan translation of a visual novel that had this feature, and I used it constantly.

It's more that it's an umbrella term that encompasses a lot of different phenomena. Fake difficulty can take many different forms.

Eh, I dunno. Aside from the time-switching level (which is legitimately brilliant), I don't find TF2 to be terribly memorable.
As campaigns, the Half-Life games and Dooms 2016 and Eternal are far superior.
