Is anyone else stuck choosing between a career in museums/public history and one in film production?

I know both industries have no jobs nor money, but I hate myself.

I love it when history books passingly mention an insane thing which sounds like it should be a book in itself in a bored, matter of fact way. Like, yeah, he became a necromancer after fleeing to Spain. Moving on.
