Simpler times… were yesterday.

1830s rural New England was anything but simple.

I love gloomy beach days more than the sunny ones. I’ll take wandering the shore in the fog over baking on the sand any day.

A week ago I finished a non-fiction book about a BBC Micro. I can’t stop thinking about it. My mind melted.

The first computer we bought was a Tandy 1000 from Radio Shack. Nobody from the 1500s left us notes on it though. Unless you count Sir Graham of King’s Quest.

The description sounds like a head trip. This is the 2nd Tom Robbin’s book recommended. So it’s added to my list! Thank you.

Also - 1980 is close enough, I’m not a real stickler for exact dates as far as books go. He definitely would have written it in the 70s.

Hopefully this doesn’t fall into The BlueSky Abyss. 🤞

My next book takes place in 1979, help a gal out & drop some killer books from (or influenced) the 1970s that you recommend as a must read, any genre. TY ❤️

Trying a new medium with sumi supplies I got from Japan last year. I’m a control freak with watercolor, and my comfort zone is realism. Letting go is…

very difficult

I cut 2,300 words from the first 10 chapters of my horror novel & I’m feeling pretty hard core. Tomorrow I’ll add 5,000 words back in somehow, but tonight I’m basking in the glow of all those dead darlings.

-4,700 more words to go.
Editing advice always welcome.

Weird book research:
Wounds of Civil War Soldiers in The Battle of Shiloh glowed blue green as if touched by a supernatural force.

Come to find out the field was full of bioluminescent bacteria that contaminated the wounds, reducing infection and healing the men quickly. Worms were involved.

Went Nov 2023 and the weather was beautiful. A bit warmer than fall in New England. Started in Nara, then Kyoto, Osaka, then Tokyo at the end. It was really amazing. The age of every was astounding, the food was absolutely amazing. The jet lag was brutal though.
