The ones that pissed me off the most were the ones who told me: "What are you worried about? Even if things do get bad, we're white, we'll be okay." Like everyone only cares about themselves.

My bet? Calvin is not the obedient little parental clone that these people want their kids to be, and he daydreams about space, aliens, etc. which shows a sense of imagination the repubs want to stamp out: they want kids to be unimaginativer drones that do what they're told and shut up otherwise.

Love those books. I'd call them MagicPunk mystery, as magic is used much like tech is in our world.
