On this day 11 years ago, on the 18th of March 2014, Russian paramilitary forces led by Igor Girkin attacked a small Ukrainian outpost in Simferopol, Crimea. 36 year old Lt. Serhii Kokurin stood on overwatch duty when he was shot by one of Girkin's snipers.
