Back home feeling much better today. Was doing jet lag yesterday. For me it's worse returning. My senior community can sign up for turkey plate today, did that before I left. Plate came about 10 a.m. basically cold. I turned it into a pot pie, my d-i-l ⬇️ showed me how to make. SO good! Happy T-day!

I'm all packed. I leave the wonderful UK tomorrow, will be back in TX by 5 pm CST. Sad to be leaving, wish I could stay but will be very glad to be home and see my lovely Zoie (JR terrier) who's been staying with a sitter. Mixed emotions to be sure.

It occurs to me that this is actually the first time we will have a President begin as a lame duck. (and a lame fuck). While Cleveland served two non-consecutive terms, there were no term limits at that time. So I think it's important that we amplify that. He is only legitimate prez for 4 more years

The 2nd best thing about being in the UK right now, from Texas, is the news. There's very little news on the felon. He's not the center of it.

I get the feeling "conflict of interest" is going to be relegated to the "so what" division, and ignored into extinction. The felon isn't going to change anything (he didn't before), Musk is certainly not going to disengage from anything, Gaetz will ignore anything in exchange for an underage girl.

Packed, all but laptop. Boarding plane at 7 p.m. headed to London, then to Leighton Buzzard for 2 weeks with my son, his wife, her daughter and the great-grandson who is 2 yrs old. I'll get fish and chips, visit Oxford, visit a pub and some other places, spend time with family and FOUR black cats.

This is important. This isn't over y'know. We want real humanity, not just civility and I'm sick and tired of chaos and violence.
Earnest post, but: a thing I like here is it’s okay to have moments of happiness in public without being broadly scolded, and I believe that sustaining this kind of humanity will be very important as we resist fascism.

Packing pretty much done. Plane leaves for UK tomorrow at 7 pm. Using British Airways cuz they fly a nonstop on Airbus (not Boeing). I'm gonna eat fish and chips, go to a Pub, and walk around Oxford (location of so many murders, solved by Morse and/or Lewis). And enjoy the great-grandson, age 2.
