If a map doesn’t elucidate my position, I’m at a loss. But one piece of data supports your position that 14th and 34th are similar: avg bus speeds. The difference is an infinitesimal .3 mph thanks to congestion pricing

Zohran, this ambulance took almost 3 minutes to get from Lex to Park on 35th. No rush hour, no parade, but cars were backed up over a block at 11 am. Now you want to push 5000/day more cars through Murray Hill so that 6 buses an hour can increase avg speed by 0.3 mph. Make it make sense.

In 2025, average bus speeds on 14th and 34th were 5.9 mph and 5.6 mph. Indeed, MTA data shows a significant increase in bus speeds for 34th street due to congestion pricing. The difference is likely due to the fact that 34th Street is a major artery whereas 14th is not.

Yes, tax concerns seem top of mind for many wealthy voters, but according to Pew Research they are more closely aligned to those with the lowest incomes versus the middle class.
