What cannot be lost in all this is that students have simply been demanding their tuition not go towards funding an illegal occupation, nor a genocide. Everything that has come after is a product of the powers that be vehemently refusing to honor that entirely reasonable ask.

Be clear: Gaetz did not withdraw because he's becoming a distraction or whatever. He withdrew because it was clear that he would not be confirmed. A bunch of Senators said no behind closed doors and the Trump team can see that they don't have enough votes.
