I’m a history loving, book reading, fantasy enjoying, science-fiction following, National Parks/Parks Canada frequent visitor, and aspiring world traveler.
I just went looking for you and was quite mystified when it had vanished! I hope the appeal goes well.

I’ve seen some places have announced their own rounding rules, but in the absence of a law regarding rounding it feels like (small) theft for a business to round down your change. All because the administration acts without actually thinking.

Wow. Thats cool. I’ve never heard of them either! But there is a decent amount of info about them. I love learning new things about history!

I’d love it if we could end gerrymandering nationwide. But you’re right, until then it needs to continue on the left to keep up with the right and hopefully make the whole process distasteful to everyone. Maybe eventually there could be widespread support for a constitutional amendment!

And then what happens when you mix in some Calvinball? 😂

Then recently I learned that act created the modern Border Patrol. Before the 20s there were few border guards—mainly created to keep out Chinese people after the Chinese Exclusion act. From the 1870s to 1960s immigration laws were designed to keep out non-white people.

Charlie Kirk said those exact same things a few months ago so this is very on-point for TPUSA. I read The Guarded Gate about that 1924 law a while back and it is horrific how evil it was, motivated by eugenics and white supremacy.

With that said yes I get that your point about monetary donations to food banks or advocating for policy changes are more effective. But I’d gently suggest trashing all non-candy options isn’t the greatest when I’ve literally seen kids love the choice.

As someone who has walked around with kids going trick or treating in a suburban neighborhood the kids I’ve seen love having a non-candy option. Candy is fun, but also common on Halloween. Something different is a treat and popular. One house gives out Capri Sun pouches and is very popular.

And I’m sure they won’t have anything resembling The Three laws or any other safeguards that normal people would want…

I pre-ordered this and am looking forward to getting it soon!

I read so many Lawhead books when I was a kid!

If it is going to remain I wish the filibuster meant Senators talked on the floor, not that they just had to get 60 votes. If people actually had to do something to block legislation then I wonder how much you’d see it used. Maybe it would mean something…

On this topic have you ever read The Religious Beliefs of America's Founders by Gregg Frazer? He examined primary sources and analyzed how many founders lined up with modern evangelical beliefs. He also debunks stories like Washington praying at Valley Forge.

Glad to know I’m not crazy. Good reporting as usual. Thank you for doing this work!

Question about this line, isn’t tradition that Peter was crucified upside down? Is the painting about Stephen being stoned? Or am I remembering incorrectly?

That looks fantastic! I love pictures like this and I think your artwork definitely captured that beauty.

I also believe that there would have to be a sea change of actions and very likely resignation. Someone who truly repents and realizes how power has corrupted them should step away from power. An attempt to cling to power tells me the repentance likely isn’t real.

He did take care of a group of corrupt Feds early on (the werewolves) so yeah I’d definitely buy this happening!

The fear of cities is real, but also so sad. I’ve traveled with my family (wife and young kids) to multiple cities in the US and international and haven’t felt unsafe. I love exploring new cities.

And the last time I crunched the state level numbers in 2020 what I found was that 67% of the US population had access to no-excuse absentee/mail in voting. It is very common.

But I’m sure we’ll have “peace in our time” soon! 😬
