What men like this want is a chatbot. Something that can never assert itself, but which they choose to find credible – because they believe they deserve uncritical affirmation. It’s been designed by men like this for men like this. People who aren’t like this correctly find it creepy and repulsive.

Now add -

▶️ No clean air mitigations in most daycares & schools;
▶️ Winter + closed windows (poor ventilation);
▶️ No portable air cleaners (poor air filtration);
▶️ Holiday gatherings;
▶️ No mask mandates in most hospitals & healthcare settings;
▶️ & still no Far-UVC in public spaces indoors.

Another Alice classic, from Archer Mag; one of her most in intimate pieces and one I revisit often as I think about relationships to the body and how disabled people are medicalized and desexualised.

'I was a sexy beast that enjoyed myself thoroughly on my own terms.'

'Even the notion of “quality of life” as a measurable standard is based on assumptions that a “good” healthy life is one without disability, pain, and suffering. I live with all three intimately and I feel more vital than ever at this point in time, because of my experiences and relationships.'
“I’m disabled and need a ventilator to live. Am I expendable during this pandemic?”
As medical rationing becomes a reality, “quality of life” measures threaten disabled people like me.
