GOP’s anti-freedom, anti-humanity goes back further than 1964. Trading Reconstruction for Rutherford B Hayes seems like a better place to start, though there have been brief interludes with a semblance of humanity, at least superficially. Rs have never been the Burke-conservatives Pelosi conjures.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Diva, which featured an aria from "La Wally" as a main plot element. Historical note: when we saw the film when it was first released, we sat behind Jack Nicholson.
