The Falcons haven’t fully committed to Michael Penix as their starting quarterback for the 2026 season at this point, but they gave some hints about how they’ll use Penix or any other quarterback on Wednesday. Penix has largely played out of the pistol or shotgun since entering the NFL, but offensive coordinator Tommy Rees suggested that would not be the case in the offense that will be installed this offseason.

The Atlanta Falcons hired Chase Blackburn as their assistant special teams coach on Wednesday, per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, adding a former NFL special teams coordinator and two-time Super Bowl champion to new head coach Kevin Stefanski's staff. Blackburn, 42, joins the Falcons after serving as the Los Angeles Rams' special teams coordinator from 2023 until his dismissal on December 20, 2025.

Seattle Public Schools announced before the city’s Seahawks Super Bowl celebration that “parade attendance will not be considered an excused absence” from school. Many students and teachers didn’t care. School officials told the Seattle Times that thousands of students and hundreds of staff skipped school for the parade. The district estimated 12,697 students and 663 staff staff were absent.

The network -- which will carry the Super Bowl for the first time -- on Wednesday unveiled its plans leading up to next year's game in Los Angeles. At the forefront of the promotion is "Year of the Super Bowl," which will see extensive promotion and programming across ESPN, ABC and Disney stations.

The Kansas City Chiefs have hired former NFL running back and Oklahoma Sooners RBs coach DeMarco Murray to lead their rushing corps, NFL Insider Jordan Schultz reported Wednesday. Declining rushing production over multiple seasons led Kansas City to release Todd Pinkston, creating a vacancy at running backs coach. The Chiefs' ground game has ranked near the bottom of the league in recent years.

The Colts are hiring Marion Hobby as their defensive line coach, Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports reports. Hobby only became Arkansas’ defensive line coach in December. He has 10 years of experience in the NFL, including four seasons (2021-24) in Cincinnati with current Colts defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo. Trey Hendrickson recorded a combined 35 sacks in the 2023-24 seasons. Hobby spent the 2025 season at the University of Tennessee, his alma mater, serving as a defensive analyst for the Volunteers.

That fell short of the 127.7 million U.S.

As to the $24 million Kalshi question of whether actor Mark Wahlberg attended Super Bowl LX, the winning answer was “no.” That’s the word from David Purdum of ESPN.com, who had initially flagged the fact that Wahlberg was the most popular selection for wagers as to whether he’d show up for Seahawks-Patriots in Santa Clara on Sunday.

Blizzard Entertainment has revealed that the Warlock class is coming to Diablo IV as part of the upcoming Lord of Hatred expansion, as well as the mobile-centric Diablo Immortal this June. Plus, you can play using this new Warlock class starting today in Diablo II: Resurrected as part of a new Reign of the Warlock DLC.  To announce the news, Blizzard released a Warlock class cinematic that is loosely about a more generic Warlock – one that could exist in any of the three aforementioned Diablo games.

Odafe Oweh is going to make a lot of money this offseason. The former first-round pick played for the Baltimore Ravens before being traded to the Los Angeles Chargers ahead of the NFL Trade Deadline in 2025. Oweh will enter free agency ahead of year 6 in the NFL. The Los Angeles Chargers will try to bring back the pass rusher; however, he could hit the open market to test his value.

Update 7:56 p.m. ET:  Highguard developer Wildlight Entertainment has released an official statement on social media confirming the layoffs at the studio after several staff members began sharing news online that they had been let go.  It did not state how many employees are affected, but this news comes after level designer Alex Graner announced he and "most of the team" were laid off, which you can read in the original version of this story below.

The Ravens are hiring Keary Colbert as their wide receivers coach, Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports reports. The Broncos fired Colbert last month after the team’s wide receivers were among the worst in the NFL at dropped passes. Colbert, though, helped Courtland Sutton become a Pro Bowler. He coached the Broncos’ wide receivers for three seasons, two of those with Ravens offensive coordinator Declan Doyle.

Developer Wildlight Entertainment released its free-to-play raid shooter, Highguard, last month, on January 26, to mixed results. Now, just a few weeks after the game's launch, most of the team has reportedly been laid off. That's according to former Highguard level designer Alex Graner, who posted on LinkedIn today, stating, "Unfortunately, along with most of the team at Wildlight, I was laid off today."
