But you can also take the time to mourn the changes you didn't want to happen and it's okay to have times where you embrace those negative emotions healthily while not letting them consume you. There's a challenge in that for everyone I think.

I miss not having complicated feelings about self confidence when it comes to appearance.
I think there's a balance and acceptance of changing expectations with life changes. It doesn't mean you can't be happy. And it also doesn't mean you can't do things that you used to love differently.

I miss being in martial arts and thriving in an environment I enjoyed throughout my childhood. I miss my independence and not asking for help but being the person who helped others. I miss being spontaneous and not having to think things through fully.

I miss being able to stand in the middle of a rain storm soaked to the bone smiling and laughing. I miss going on hikes with friends and basking in the beauty of places taken back by nature.

I'm proud of being able to travel across the country to talk about props, story telling, and trying to be an example that living with a disability doesn't mean that you can't enjoy life.

I don't feel like I'm on the sidelines. I love being able to make props for my chair and being able to learn new creative things. I enjoy performing with my best friend and learning more about acting and improv.
