Link signing instead of speaking is fantastic and I love fan content that does it. If the movie did that it would be very cool. And if you see Link as good representation and see yourself in him, that makes sense and I absolutely understand why. Don't let me being pedantic take that from you lol

He has voice lines in Wind Waker. He speaks in other adaptations. Devs had said they don't write specific dialogue for him so we can insert ourselves into the role better and imagine what he's saying for ourselves. It's not because he's literally not speaking.
