Honestly - I really only adore historical romance. All other sub genres are secondary for me.

But as for tropes - I love a good mutual pining, some over the top forced proximity (for Reasons), and I love some competence kink - being hot for something doing awesome stuff. (I can give specific recs)

Ruby Dixon and CM Nascosta are both brilliant and my top picks. If you want a shifter more sci-fi thing going - you can’t miss the Psy Changeling series by Nalini Singh.
