in the vtuber sphere you can't really get "another" person to play the character since the person IS the character to the audience. it's a very idol-culture leaning thing. popona is popona and getting someone else to be popona would be very frowned upon

popona was originally a character from idola and served kinda as a navigator and mascot. after idola shut down, her actress was kept around and popona was turned fully into a mascot by being sega's official ngs vtuber
