Steampunk, artist and always ready for some shenanigans!
Some of the local visitors. We just got a suet feeder and we're lucky enough to spy a Flicker soon after putting it up!

I think birds are difficult subjects to photograph. They always seem to be looking in the wrong direction when I want to photograph them. 🤣

As we walk through our daily lives, how often do we look up?

Sometimes, looking up will bring you an unexpected surprise.

Below are some ceilings dating from 1906 to 1928 all in the PNW. I find the details from this era incredible.

So remember to look up!

Monday is behind us my Bluesky peeps. Come take a load off and relax.

In today's uncertain, scary and unhappy times, carving out a few minutes for yourself is important.

I present Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. Pick your favorite and imagine yourself there.

Per Webster's: a statue is a three-dimensional representation usually of a person, animal, or mythical being that is produced by sculpturing, modeling, or casting

But there is so much more to them. They are saints, sinners, gods and everything in between.

This week's theme for the #BlueSkyArtShow is #spring

The change of seasons sometimes surprises me in the #PNW

Today, I went around the corner of my house and clump after clump of crocus were in full bloom. Then I spent some quality time with a orange banded bumblebee.

Happy weekend my Bluesky lovelies. Yesterday it was beams, today it's pipes.

I am not really an urban photographer, but as I live in the city and I am a Steampunk, so certain scenes catch my eye.

Today I wanted to share some photos of metal beams as architectural elements to create art & structure.

Joining Bluesky has made me go through my pictures and evaluate them.

Is this a good shot or just mediocre. Even if I like it, it's it relevant to others?

Good news, I have been able to delete a lot off my Google photos. Bad news, thousands to go 😭

I took the picture below several years ago as a movie prop for a short film that Lord Merciless wrote.

I think it turned out well.

I have been talking pictures for what seems like my entire life. Both of my parents were amateur photographers and my aunt was a photojournalist.

As an ode to the early days, here is a set of black & white photos.

This week's #BlueSkyArtShow is #abandoned.

The Great Seattle Fire destroyed the business district of Seattle on June 6, 1889. Seattle rebuilt using brick buildings that sat 20 feet above the original street level.

This is what still sits below.

So it is #Scapefriday and here is a beautiful sunset over 1st Beach, La Push, WA.

I have been to the Quileute Reservation many times. Each and every time I stand in awe of this majestic scenery.
Happy Friday my Bluesky peeps.

I think animals are very interesting and tricky subjects to photograph.

We often inbue them with anthropomorphic characteristics to make relatable connections to them.

I have added what it looks like the animal is thinking or doing in Alt.

Let's talk silhouettes.
Per Webster's dictionary - silhouette suggests with all detail blacked out in shadow leaving only the outline clearly defined.

The first picture was taken with my Minolta SRT 101 in 1986, the rest are digital.

Something I enjoy photographing are bridges. I enjoy their lines and details.
They have one job, getting us from here to there. But they can be very different from one to the other, and that my friends, is very cool.

Hello my Bluesky peeps. Today I want to talk about a unique outdoor spot in Seattle Center called the UpGarden. It is a P-Patch garden on top of a garage.

During the pandemic, it was a lifesaver. Space enough to social distance but to still be a community.

It is rainy and gray day in the PNW, so I thought we needed a dash of butterfly color to get us in the mood for Spring!

Some San Diego Zoo facts on butterflies in Alt.

Happy Saturday!

The octopus, building and pagoda were shot with film using my 1940s Ciro-Flex camera in Seattle Center.

The moon shot is digital, but the moon was so bright no other colors were picked up.

Happy Valentine's Day to all my peeps on Bluesky.

Lord Merciless is not exactly the hearts and flowers sort of guy, so I have gathered some fun heart pictures to celebrate the day with you. 💖

The PNW is back to snow for a few days, so I thought I would post the snows of winters past.
2013 & 2019 had particularly deep snowfalls. In the last 25 years, I have personally seen the climate up here change.
It is real. 😢

A much better day today! Talked to an old friend who is returning to Seattle. He says there are so many things he and his husband missed while they were abroad. They want to to appreciate the PNW more.
This post is for him.

I have had a very long day and very difficult day. Work, family and the news were stressors today. It is at times like this, that I look at my art and remember why I create. For me, art is a release, a touchstone, and the fun room in my Mind Palace.
Look closely. Info in Alt.

So often we walk past small things without giving them any attention. The images we take in those moments in time might be gone right after you snap that shot. Nature is an ever changing landscape and I find it infinitely fascinating.
