Some of the local visitors. We just got a suet feeder and we're lucky enough to spy a Flicker soon after putting it up!

I think birds are difficult subjects to photograph. They always seem to be looking in the wrong direction when I want to photograph them. 🤣

I took the picture below several years ago as a movie prop for a short film that Lord Merciless wrote.

I think it turned out well.

The background is a combination of blackberries, horsetail ferns and bamboo. The props were from the basement. Fun fact, the little chest on the table is from the mid 1800s, made of zinc and has a what looks like a bullet hole in it.

This week's #BlueSkyArtShow is #abandoned.

The Great Seattle Fire destroyed the business district of Seattle on June 6, 1889. Seattle rebuilt using brick buildings that sat 20 feet above the original street level.

I think animals are very interesting and tricky subjects to photograph.

We often inbue them with anthropomorphic characteristics to make relatable connections to them.

Something I enjoy photographing are bridges. I enjoy their lines and details.
They have one job, getting us from here to there. But they can be very different from one to the other, and that my friends, is very cool.

Hello my Bluesky peeps. Today I want to talk about a unique outdoor spot in Seattle Center called the UpGarden. It is a P-Patch garden on top of a garage.

During the pandemic, it was a lifesaver. Space enough to social distance but to still be a community.

Males drink from mud puddles to extract minerals that aren’t available in flowers. This behavior is known as “puddling.” Butterfly wings are clear – the colors & patterns we see are made by the reflection of the tiny scales covering them. The PNW is back to snow for a few days, so I thought I would post the snows of winters past.
2013 & 2019 had particularly deep snowfalls. In the last 25 years, I have personally seen the climate up here change.
