I won’t. I’m happy Kimmel is back, but they’ve only proven how easily they’ll fold and how little they stand for. As David Lynch would say “Fix your hearts or die” you dingdongs.

To be clear, I’m delighted Kimmel will be back.
But I won’t be resubscribing to Disney/Hulu. All they’ve proven is how easily they’ll fold to any kind of pressure. I’d rather support brave entities that stand for something. As David Lynch would say, “Fix your hearts or die” you dingdongs.

That book wrecked me. I can’t even imagine what this film will do.

Ohmygosh, it’s so bad!

James. That novel, particularly, as its focus on revolution and political violence feels oddly of the moment for a book that’s nearly 150 years old.

Frankenstein. I read it first as a teenager, and when I learned that a girl not much older than I was wrote it — and in doing so, created modern science fiction — I fell in love. A whole world of feminist thought and history and art was opened to me.

I’m very proud to share a birthday (albeit in a different year) with Tony Bennett.

If he did, he actually stole that burn from Capote, who on many occasions said exactly that about Jack Kerouac.

He was so good as Capote I almost couldn’t stand it.

He’s coming for arts and media. Let’s hope every angry celeb puts up cash - and lots of it - to swing midterms. Because the sad truth is, whoever is best financed will win.

I agree! The Scout in Watchman reminds me of myself as a young woman, sorting through very conflicted feelings and realities of my home and loved ones. It’s an honest work, young and raw and in need of polish, but still evocative. I wish we had more of her writing.

It’s called Go Set a Watchman, and though published decades later, it isn’t really a second novel. Rather, it’s her first draft of Mockingbird — it was very different, more cynical, featuring an older Scout. It’s a lesser work, but interesting in terms of process.

It really does.

*who love America. If you’re going to be so confidently hateful, you should at least strive to be less dumb about it.

That’s a great collection of books! Kudos to you for choosing them, teaching them, not backing away from the beautiful, hard truths spoken in them.
