⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 I was not expecting a detailed manual of how young, unwed girls get pregnant then get sent to a home until the baby is born and a step by step VERY DESCRIPTIVE guide on child birth. The last 40 pages really pulled it together and earned it that last ⭐️. This was more of a drama than a horror.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was a good story. If you are looking for a short horror story with no gore at all, read it. It does refer to child abuse, drugs and drinking but not in an encouraging way. I would say how it was written I would consider it young adult with a bit of fantasy.

⭐️ I was so disappointed that I had to DNF this one. It was like being on a never ending old rusted merry-go-round upside down while it’s hailing outside. ***WARNING: Review with spoilers in comments ***

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 This is my very first Stephen King read. His creation of the characters and their individual personalities are outstanding! Written in the style of a unique 12 year old boy as the story’s narrator and never sways from it or goes off focus. We are watching the series on MGM+ too

⭐️⭐️⭐️This was a great idea, HOWEVER the way this book jumps into random years in the timeline back and forth, IT IS SO HARD TO FOLLOW. The end is kinda… blah to me considering the lead up to it… Maybe it’s just me… characters are relatable and are well thought out.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was a pretty good horror book! You will never feel the same about ice cream trucks, librarians or Halloween

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Dark and witty with a bit of humor. I wish this was a novel because it would be so good! There is so much potential!

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Finally caught up! This series is just cozy and entertaining. This one, however, lacked the connection between the main couple and the rest of the characters. It didn’t really bring them all together in order to form more friendships within the group like most of them have but still liked it!

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 Great as usual! It’s amazing how everything ties together book after book yet no story is the same! Yes, I’m getting caught up on these lol

-⭐️… YES, I said NEGATIVE 1 STAR. DNF. This book is absolutely revolting and made me want to bleach my kindle after trying to read it. Just NO. TRUST ME.

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 These books are great! Proves how LGBT+ humans live just like everyone else with the same types of issues and situations. Each one introduces a new couple and still connects them through each one. And YES, I’m WAY behind in these…

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5! This was a very unusual “haunted house” novel. Great details that made it easy to picture what was actually happening. Also has some witty humor here and there.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ SHE HAS DONE IT YET AGAIN. JLB has such amazing writing skills with transitions that don’t skip a beat. When you think she has written the best game yet, here comes the next one! As usual, fast paced and takes off right away! Can’t wait til “The Same Backward as Forward” comes out on 11/4/25!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was a strong ending to the Scholomance trilogy. El steps into the wider world, facing hard choices and big truths about magic and power. It’s slower than the first two books but offers deeper world-building and just when you think you know what’s going to happen, you will be wrong!

⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was a solid read for me HOWEVER, if your aren’t familiar with several Jewish terms, you may have trouble following it. This tells a story about a Jewish teen boy and a gentile teen girl learning first hand about antisemitism and religion in a hateful town. Don’t judge, try to understand 💗

⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was a solid August read. The ending was nothing what I expected. There were moments where I was ready for it to move on but I kept at it because it has a great storyline. Apparently there is a 2nd book in I don’t think I would go out of my way to read it.

⭐️⭐️ I’m not really sure what to say about this one. It felt like she started writing with good intentions and then just got bored and said “never mind” and just published what she had. This is my first Picoult read and I hope this is not how she normally writes. I have it 2 stars for potential.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was a solid series. Gothic vibes with tons of twists and turns. Stephanie Tyo definitely has some unique ideas that aren’t your typical “creepy doll” reads. Corinne can’t run from her family history no matter what the dolls say or do to try convince her otherwise. Great short horror reads!

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Book 2 is proof that you can run, but you can’t hide! You definitely have to read the first one in order to understand what is going on. It picks up and continues as if it was 1 book!

This was my #firstread for August! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This series is a completely unique Dark Academia story. Very well written. I am not good with fantasy sometimes because of their depth so I had to focus more while reading this series but it was a smooth transition from book 1 to book 2. Book 3 next month.

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5… Book One of this 3 book ARC Series from #BookSirens. #StephanieTyo packed this book with her entire imagination. This is not your typical “creepy doll” “Annabelle” type of story. You won’t look at dolls the same after this one! You won’t see this one coming and neither did Corinne!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What a way to end July! Caitlin has painted a perfect picture of just how disturbing and brutal illness can get and how it forces you mentally into a dark place that someone that has never experienced real illness can’t possibly fathom. Mental illness is real and it’s a battle some don’t win.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Some how I missed adding this one in the beginning of the month! The “Game” in this one is unique and kept my interest to the very last page! I will definitely give the next book a chance. I

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This one was a very good book. Dealt with a few serious subjects brilliantly. I’m hoping the rest of the series follows this same style where it’s more about how real things can get and the effects of bad decisions. Well done, Nicole!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Bridgerton but the main characters are the Grim Reaper and an orphan who can’t die and is training to be a grim reaper. This was well written and an easy read. Good thing I got all 3 of these 🤣
