Since we only come to SoCal once a year, I make an effort to go to Culver City. I visit the Ripped Bodice (ordering online is nice but I love buying in person), followed by lunch at Grand Casino. It's also a great way for Shirl and I to destress.

Being at my MIL's house means we get to visit this stained glass piece Shirley made for her mom almost 20 years ago. It still looks amazing. Also, I wish Shirley still had the time to pursue her art.

I was able to beat the rain to A Verb for Keeping Warm to pick up this beautiful cherrywood thread holder, a collaboration between Verb and Modern American Vintage. They also have a hera marker that I covet.

It's always exciting to get a piece of art, no matter the size. I snapped up this tiger totem during a recent drop by Shirley Jackson (aka Lion in the Trees). I need to figure out some altar space so it has a place to live. My cat likes to be on everything so havigan altar is a challenge #indieart
