the airbuds app, while probably not what you are after, is a little similar. you can have your friends on the app and you get a feed of what they are listening to.

depends what you didn't like about animal crossing. stardew valley has a less clunky more involved gameplay loop, more fleshed out villagers, but less focus on decorating and outfits.
