Sightings of #KatherineHoward, Henry VIII’s fifth wife are often reported. She allegedly after she was arrested at Hampton Court, broke free of her guards screaming out to the King for mercy through what is now called the Haunted Gallery. 1/3

#OTD 1456 Edmund Tudor, husband of Margaret Beaufort, father to Henry VII, died in Carmarthen. History suggests Edmund died of plague, but I think, considering the circumstances, there is good reason to suggest something more sinister. Read on:

Its the anniversary of the battle of Bosworth, fought this day in 1485. I had the pleasure to speak at Bosworth on the Mythbusting book tour. Curiously, it was one of 2 gigs where the audience didn't ask any questions. Assume I was *so* good there were literally no questions, right!?

Today is the 540th anniversary of the Battle of Bosworth, a seismic day in which Henry Tudor, an 'unknown Welshman' of modest English royal lineage, usurped the throne of Richard III. On a rural Leicestershire field, one king was unmade, and another made.
