I was homeschooled in the late 80s thru early 2000s and my parents taught me cursive. I used it for all my homework. Cursive is actually easier than lowercase/uppercase printing for me 😅😛 I normally just print in all caps now, though, and use cursive for special occasions and writing on cakes 😜

Half the published books these days are absolute drivel anyway; there is amazing fanfiction out there written by award-winning authors and amateurs alike that is SO much better. 😎

If an author on ao3 had written a continuation of Good Omens, it would certainly be considered fanfiction! But the second season of Good Omens is not, even though it was done by many, many people who loved the original work and wanted to continue the story.

By that metric, the Bible would be considered fan fiction. 😛
I think people who have the full approval of the copyright holder/ are being paid to remake something would not be creating a work of fanfiction, since one of its defining characteristics is that you could get sued if you sold it 😅
