a gesture of defeat, that for now, he will stick with this facade of normalcy with 'hikaru'

it's not just a creepy gaze, it's a gaze full of conflicted feelings

from fear, doubt to even a desire to stick with the status quo

'hikaru' is a dangerous entity possessing his best friend and crush's body, but he is also a facsimile of hikaru that yoshiki can grasp after his death, something that he can hold onto as he tried to accept his death

this scene happened right after yoshiki is confronted by kurebayashi-san telling him that 'hikaru' is a dangerous entity and mingling with him will bring some kind of great disaster
and those eyes, those are eyes assessing the threat right in front of him
