I have lived my life feeling proud of being solidly middle-class, mainly because our government didn't feel so far away. My class has not changed, but gov is now in such an elevated level. I have to actively breathe this thought away. I doubt I am alone in this. Trump and his like have done this.

He should dig in harder, not walk away.

I agree with all of this, but have to ask "why" is he the President? What led us here? What is the lesson that we are supposed to be learning?

When will they learn? Anyone who aligns themselves with DJT ends up in ruins. It is the height of ego to think their story will end differently.

He has given a voice to the parts of our country that are broken. The boisterous and joyful reactions to Kamala Harris showed that there still is hope. She just didn't have enough time. Our country desperately needs someone to pick up where she left off before the broken parts destroy our country.

His power is his religion.
