If you do go the medicine route, I'd suggest asking for an SSRI (Zoloft, Celexa, etc.) Unless they give you a benzodiazepine (or hydroxyzine), you're not going to get significant relief for up to a couple months, so might as well get prescribed something with more likelihood of being effective
