There are definitely some gut wrenching moments, but it is such a great story. I usually avoid sad books and movies because I find them depressing, but I didn’t find it to be.

I enjoyed Yellowface. Not in your pile, but I really liked Nothing to See Here by Kevin Wilson and James by Percival Everett.
