This is a little older now, but there's some progress here.
The first looks more like a literal shoebill, but I wanted to push a more fantastical design as seen in the newer look.
It still needs work, but it's heading in the right direction. I hope? Hahaha

In the interest of momentum I'm trying to get better at drawing female characters and forms and stumbled across @emiliodekure.bsky.social's video on how to draw Female Bodies. As soon as he explained the hip dip trick i turned into that Eric Wareheim "mind blown" gif. Thanks heaps! Such a great vid!

Had some time recently to play (and finish) all of the Alan Wake 2 DLC and "The Final Draft" New Game+. I have to say I think I'm Rose's "Number one Fan" now hahaha!
That episode of the Night Springs DLC is the most fun I've had in a game for a while.
Full Rose-tinted spin-off when?

Anyhow, I should have realized with the hint that the sky and the atmosphere in the Background is BLUE and that would've been the indicator for what this armo(u)r's hue should be.
I think I got close with the values, I was just on the wrong Side of the tracks in the colour wheel district.

Turns out I see sheen's of green on the big meat machine's shoulder piece. It should be obvious, but I saw green where there was blue, throwing off my theory that it was a polar opposite "complementary" scheme with the terracotta under painting in the grooves.

Recently bought Wayfinder after the 1.0 update and much like all of Airship Syndicate's work, I'm flummoxed by how gorgeous everything is so I decided I'd try an eyeball and colour match a piece of Wingrave's armo(u)r in the launch trailer. Here's the result:
