Just happened in Ohio to a 3rd grade teacher, simply for having 4 LGBTQ+ books on the bookshelf in her classroom library.

Except for the poor Ohio 3rd grade teacher suspended for including 4 lgbtq+ theme books in her classroom library. :(

Sadly those types of projects aren’t allowed anymore when you have to teach from the series or program “with fidelity.” Follow the book and the scripted lessons is the way it goes now.

I’m a teacher. That’s the bottom line reality in schools every day. If it’s not on the test, it’s not in the curriculum we are told to teach, and not in the pacing guides we have to follow.

One word… testing. If it’s not on the test there’s no time in the schedule given to teachers to teach it.
