I think they’re perfect for your use cases, honestly. You can change your splicing so much faster with them over wire nuts. If you are frequently modifying your splices on a project, then they’re worth their weight in gold.

They’re super useful when we need to tie a magnetic lock into a fire system relay, for example.

Yep! They have two models: 24-12 AWG and 20-10 AWG. Both can handle solid and stranded wiring. We’ve started using them for indoor situations over Dolphin DC-100 connectors in our door access wiring (gauges 22 AWG through 12 AWG).

To counter your sample size, I offer my own, which is myself and all of my friends and family. I can’t remember a single time one of them refused to use a straw. They’ll complain about paper straws, but that’s about it
