They do say as much therein, but then also seem to repeat the claim that learning history matters in general (for combating misinfo), and that social studies does too. I suppose their presupposition is that virtually all misinfo pertains in some way to historical questions?

After an admittedly quick read, I found this article a bit unclear. The main claim seems to be that knowledge-context matters, as a kind of flag for scepticism. Good point. But presumably knowing abt history is, then, only helpful in combating misinfo when it hinges on a historical question.
