One of my favorite emergent field/phone practices is "bad photogrammetry." I'm not against good Photogrammetry, but bad photogrammetry is poetic, creepy, provocative....

To clarify, she prototyped them for me but it was her first time. She also reproduced ancient Chinese gardening tools for the Huntington's Chinese garden--watering can in the photo. At the Huntington you can see her pruning scissors. So now she has a specialty in replicas of old Chinese tools.

Ok I'm going to be posting a lot about my fieldwork in Taiwan, on top of the editing things. Yesterday, I worked with a feminist blacksmith in Santa Ana, who prototypes traditional tailoring tools that are no longer made.

All I want to do these days is keep working on this. As I sew, I'm reminded that the history of Vodou flags is that there were wedding dress factories in Haiti back in the day and that's how they started using sequins.
