Retired (sort of) former professor and university administrator focused on learning-centered teaching. Love spending my time traveling, crocheting, bicycling, and taking care of my old doggie.
Are you struggling to choose a holiday gift for that person who seems to already have everything? I'll bet they don't have this: A pool floatie shaped like a cockroach! (If you buy 10,000 of them on Ali Baba they're only $10 apiece.) You're welcome.

Me: Would you like three hard-boiled eggs?
Kids: What? No way!
Me: How about if I cut them in half, mash up the yolks with some mayo and spices, and put it back in the little empty hole in the white?
Kids: GIVE. ME. THEM.

Bingo. Can confirm that it feels GREAT to jettison hateful people from one's circle.
I’ve noticed a lot of stories and media outlets, even @npr.org seem to be putting out lots of “unity content”. Lots of “put your politics aside for the holidays”, lots of “find common ground.” I’m sorry, but no. I know my worth & if your politics don’t find me worthy, you can fuck all the way off.
