One of the things that gets me is their claim of “erasure of history” when they say liberals called for or supported taking down Confederate Civil War monuments.

Might consider an ultrasound; X-rays missed an abscess on our pup’s lower intestine. One bowel resection later she’s fine and 5 years old, but had we not insisted she wasn’t getting better….

I thought I was the only one with a dog who played “roll it!”

Agreed. Major failure. Just connecting some dots to antisocial, political choices.

His description of the onset of his illness made me wonder if he was sick from Covid (I wonder, too, whether he was vaccinated).

Did we even get cheaper eggs? We may have just skipped to the bad part.

I can see how a forum that limits characters and promotes abbreviated messages AS well as my own haste produced a provocation. I appreciate your gracious offer so I can rectify and apologize.

I’m not sure what I did that is provoking an adversarial response. I thought I was adding info to the conversation. Guy has been involved in govt financial policies for years; we agree, so no beef.

More context: Originally appointed by Biden; Powell was the incumbent (2018), reappointed by current Pres.

Too late to edit: “intensely loyal”

Captures the difference between GOP & Dems: Knight's players were intensely loyalty but also publicly criticized BK). Smith built strong, lifelong bonds with players; many stayed connected to Chapel Hill. Rugged Individualism v community & collaboration.

That’s my favorite Constitutional not-trivia to trot out when the keyboard warriors whine about folks “trampling on their Freedom of Speech” in social media. 1st Amendment did not mean the villagers couldn’t label the village idiot the village idiot.

Did I read that’s actually the new rule at the VA? That doctors, providers, and nursing staff don’t have to treat people with disagreeable views? Maybe I’m just hallucinating this dystopia to its logical conclusion.

Yes, and the context includes the ethics of even saying “I slept with underage girls.” So much context that he doesn’t even recognize.

Right. A “full moon” is an image perceived from earth, whereas “the moon” might be in relation to earth (not one of Saturn’s moons), but is referenced in its thing-ness.

I’m suffereing from cognitive dissonance. First was the anti-consumerist message (two dolls, not 30!) and now this?

Totalitarian.

Guy in front is wearing jeans. That’s not typical uniform wear, and plainclothes /UC cops would blow their covers putting on that getup over jeans. Does the gear even match from person to person, or did those guys go to the local Prepper store for various army-navy surplus on their own?

It’s definitely not legal in the US. In fact the interdiction is baked into our Constitution (Article I, Section 9), which “prohibits anyone in the US Government from receiving a personal gift from a foreign head of state without the consent of Congress.” The recipient of the jet does not care.

Wasn’t the previous position that migrants were not subject to US laws and thus could be deported without habeas corpus? If they’re saying they will suspend the right, then they’re recognizing the CURRENT Constitional right. Upside down world continues?
