Teacher, palaeontologist.
My hot take on this is, the kids are bored in school because they’re not sat mindlessly scrolling on phones for dopamine hits.

Curriculum may be an issue, but phones are a bigger one

I speak to my colleagues about how teaching is like this now every period, every day.

This is a global issue that needs dealing with at a much higher level than individual schools/counties/countries

I have been divorced 18 years and without fail I get a birthday card from my Smells’ grandparents. They mean so much to us still

Not new guidance at all, as many of you will know. The o ly ‘guidance’ I could find was from the Daily Fail branding it as ‘woke’.

To play devil’s advocate though, are we actually helping pupils develop resilience by not checking their learning though?

When the only person you know who’ll willingly go to this with you and enjoy it is your 7 year old nephew, you do what you’ve got to do. 3 weeks to go!

Always deeply heart broken that my museum career went sideways because I complained about the curator harassing me. They always protect the men.

Took a short 11km walk around Hastings Country Park today. Found a cave a nudey beach.

I can also confidently say it’s far harder than the 37km I did round the Seven Sisters. It’s the bloody stairs 😩

Men in early years. This comment - from a man - highlights two issues in my opinion:

1) society doesn’t trust men and assumes they’re all a danger to children.

2) indicates why we may not have men in these kind of role in the first instance

Still my fave place on earth, but now totally unenjoyable. Absolutely rammed. Yes it’s summer holidays but it’s like this all year round now. And for someone who’s limited to school holidays or weekends, it’s especially not great. So, what’s the solution? Paid tickets for tourists out of UK?

Gorgeous walk around Rye Nature Reserve. Shame the next one train an hour is cancelled - no conductor

Nothing like planning walks

What an end to the year. This girl protested for weeks about me calling the form group ‘my kids’.

It’s one of my fave roles in school.

If you’re unsure when the summer holidays start…

As reliable as Centre Parcs price hikes.

This is Tiny Boy. He’s 3, and has 2 brain cells. His fave thing to do is drop in front of you like this so you’ll stroke his tummy, which he absolutely loves.

Had her 3 years now. Still makes me very sad she spent her kitten-hood on her own

I am right on the coast. I don’t know how it’s safe to work in these temps
