After giving a bit of background on explainable AI (XAI) and interactive ML (IML), we discuss our criteria for selecting a framework for the backend; after narrowing it down to two choices, we arrived at Label Studio (over Marcelle) as our framework of choice. /2

We are still looking for interviewees working on and with open-source software, especially from thus far underrepresented groups (people with little to medium experience working on OSS, those in mid-career stages (10–20 years on the job), women and nonbinary people, people over 45 years old).

Looking at app behaviour and functionalities, network traffic, privacy policies, etc., we found that sideloaded apps are more likely to hide their presence, require excessive permissions, and some even transmitted sensitive data unencrypted. /3
